Steward's Report
Mr Garry Selkrig, trainer of Angel's Comet, declared a new weight of 31.0 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Angel's Comet last raced at 29.9 kgs.
Spring Classic, Almani Tee Rex and Angel's Comet were slow to begin. Crymelon Turbine, Spring Classic, Dyna Nelly and Got The Double collided approaching the first turn, checking Spring Classic, Dyna Nelly and Got The Double. Spring Classic, Angel's Comet, Got The Double and Almani Tee Rex raced wide on the home turn. Spring Classic checked off Dyna Nelly in the home straight. Angel's Comet eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Selkrig, the trainer of the greyhound Angel's Comet regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Angel's Comet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Angel's Comet with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Selkrig pleaded guilty to the charge, Angel's Comet was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
