Steward's Report
The close of kennelling was delayed by approximately 10 minutes due to technical issues with the computer system.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Osborne, the trainer of Heza Real Deal regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Heza Real Deal last raced on 19th February, 2018. Mr. Osborne stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left shoulder injury.
Tomal was a late scratching at 6:41pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Bob's Hammer was slow to begin. Premier Back and Bob's Hammer collided soon after the start checking Bob's Hammer. Murrabit Sammy and Premier Back collided approaching the first turn. Premier Back contacted the running rail on the first turn. Tat James and Smash Williams collided approaching the home turn. Bob's Hammer and Murrabit Sammy collided on the home turn. Heza Real Deal faltered approaching the winning post.
Premier Back was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Heza Real Deal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained sand toe to its right hind toes and an injury to its thoraco lumbar region. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. P. Osborne, the trainer of Heza Real Deal regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.
