Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Leitch, the trainer of Kiewa Cowboy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kiewa Cowboy last raced on 7th December 2017. Mr. Leitch stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from a right shoulder injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Leitch, the handler of Kiewa River Run and Kiewa River Flo, regarding his untimely kennelling of this greyhound. Kennelling closed several minutes later than the scheduled closing time. Mr. Leitch acknowledged an offence under GAR 31 and was fined $50 for the incident.

Buster Norris, Octo Flash and Stagger Loot collided on the first turn checking Buster Norris, Octo Flash and Brooklyn Lad and severely checking Stagger Loot which stumbled as a result. Sunday Driving crossed to the rail approaching the home turn checking Limburg Sprite and Kiewa River Flo. Kiewa River Flo contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Miss Congenial was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Geoffrey Williamson regarding the racing incident approaching the second turn. After viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Williamson Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied to the required standard, as no head vision was available, that Miss Congenial had eased approaching the second turn free of interference and as such took no further action.

Mr. Trethowan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from being seasonal. Mr. Trethowan also declared a new weight of 28.6 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miracle Cherry last raced at 27.4kg.

Beer On Tap was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Reverend John was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left tarsal region. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Barry Hall regarding the performances of his greyhounds in this event. Mr Hall stated that his greyhounds were out of class and ran to there ability. Mr Hall further stated that he will continue to look for more suitable races.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tyson's A Rebel upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Sandy Lagoon and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 14:20 due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. K. Ward was fined the sum of $100.
