Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Mikey Wires.
Mikey Wires, Hua Hin and Bro Wizard collided soon after the start. Pepper Shannon, Monica's Joy and Raven Joe collided on the first turn. Raven Joe checked off Zelemar Jim on the first turn. Hua Hin, Raven Joe and Bro Wizard collided on the second turn. Raven Joe and Bro Wizard collided on the second turn, checking Bro Wizard.
Raven Joe was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg wrist injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Phillip Clark, trainer of Mikey Wires, regarding the greyhound stepping up in distance in tonight's event. Mr Clark advised Stewards that the greyhound had trialled to his satisfaction over 500m and 650m in the weeks leading up to tonight's event. Stewards noted the explanation.
Stewards spoke to Ms Pia Triaca regarding the direction that the greyhound Bro Wizard be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
