Better Way and Hardaway Kate collided soon after the start checking Better Way. Hardaway Kate, Faily Legal, Cosmic Don and Nellie Shaw collided on the first turn checking Fairly Legal, Nellie Shan and Cosmic Don. Destini Lima faltered approaching the second turn checking Cosmic Don. Hardaway Kate and How Good She collided on the second turn and again approaching the home turn checking How Good She. Better Way, Fairly Legal and Nellie Shan collided on the home turn.
Destini Lima was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to both groin muscles. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jenner, the trainer of the greyhound Destini Lima. Stewards deemed the performance of Destini Lima unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Destini Lima must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
