Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy this meeting was marked 'Hot Weather Affected'. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 37.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 21.4 degrees.
Hurricane Craig was a late scratching at 4.50pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards directed trainer Mrs. V. Sultana to ensure Hurricane Craig have a veterinary follow up within 3 days as requested by the on track Veterinary Surgeon.
Take Home Sadie, Hurricane Brad, Hurricane Cindy and Lightfoot Lass were slow to begin. Hurricane Brad and Hurricane Cindy collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Hurricane Brad raced wide on the first turn checking Hurricane Cindy. Take Home Sadie, Poppy Yaala and Mother Monster collided on the first turn checking Poppy Yaala and Mother Monster. Mother Monster and Wy Yung Floods collided on the home turn. Lightfoot Lass was checked off Poppy Yaala in the home straight checking Poppy Yaala.
Hurricane Brad was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event 3. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. V. Sultana the trainer of the greyhound Hurricane Cindy . Stewards deemed the performance of Hurricane Cindy unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Hurricane Cindy must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
