Steward's Report
Candy Rose was a late scratching at 12.56pm due to the greyhound being on season. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from It Is Done.
Macauliff was quick to begin. Parie Shiraz and Staitline Willy were slow to begin. Straitline Willy was checked off Dr. Noely on the first turn and again on the second turn. Dr. Noely and Stir Fry Shrimp collided on the second turn checking Stir Fry Shrimp. Stir Fry Shrimp stumbled entering the back straight. Spotted Label eased and crossed out in the back straight checking It Is Done. Dr. Noely and Macauliff collided approaching the third turn checking Macauliff. Straitline Willy was checked off Dr. Noely on the third turn checking Straitline Willy, Macauliff and It Is Done. Spotted Label was checked off Dr. Noely in the home straight checking Spotted Label, causing Straitline Willy to gallop on Spotted Label.
Stir Fry Shrimp was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Macauliffe was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abraded left and right paw, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pace the trainer of the greyhound Spotted Label regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight. Spotted Label was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind webbing, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Spotted Label with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Pace pleaded guilty to the charge, Spotted Label was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
