Steward's Report
Harvey Leigh was a late scratching at 9.45am due to injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the trainer of Dr. Bodacious regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dr. Bodacious last raced on 24/06/17. Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.
Dr. Bodacious and Dr. Simon were slow to begin. Eduardo Rose, Heavy Pockets and Peter's Pride collided on the first turn checking Heavy Pockets, Peter's Pride and About To Cry. Dr. Bodacious galloped on Zafonic Express on the first turn checking Zafonic Express and severely checking Dr. Bodacious which fell as a result checking Dr. Simon. Heavy Pockets and Zafonic Express collided in the home straight.
Dr. Bodacious was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle and an abrasion to the anus, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
