Mighty Boots and Nod Ya Head collided on the home turn. Mighty Boots marred the running of Avalon Sisco entering the home straight.

Mighty Boots was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the right front leg.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jones, the handler of the greyhound Mighty Boots regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Mighty Boots with marring. Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Mighty Boots was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr G Paull, trainer of Ain't No Luck declared a new weight of 30.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ain't No Luck last raced at 32.3kg.

Beard Com and Time Away were slow to begin. Time Away and Buzz Of Sally collided soon after the start. Ace Of Cruising and Ain't No Luck collided approaching the first turn checking Ace Of Cruising.

Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms J Power, to establish the cirsumstances of greyhound Tallin Power being transferred to Trainer, Mr E Evans, on 17 December 2017, and then back to Ms Power on 26 December 2017.  Ms Power stated that the transfer had been necessary due to uncertainty about the date her licence renewal would be approved by GRV.      

Tallinn Power was quick to begin. Pinciotti was slow to begin. Scott Lucky and Seabrook Indi collided soon after the start. Tallinn Power, Seabrook Indi and Scott Lucky collided on the first turn checking Scott Lucky and Tallinn Power. Scott Lucky and Tallinn Power collided approaching the home turn checking Tallinn Power. Pinciotti and Ark Lightning collided approaching the home turn.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately one minute to hold for Shepparton harness racing.

Major Riot, Rurik and Gold Attraction collided on the first turn. Seabrook Gem and Raven On collided entering the back straight checking Raven On which tailed off. Rurik galloped on the heels of Alcyone on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Alcyone and Rurik collided on the home turn.

Raven On was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back injury. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.

Peter Yap and Solo collided soon after the start. Peter Yap and Jack's Pick collided on the first turn checking Jack's Pick. Solo, Jack's Pick and Looking Down collided approaching the second turn and on the second turn checking Jack's Pick and Solo. Skibbo and Amigo Two collided on the home turn. Skibbo and Nangar Range collided entering the home straight. Amigo Two and Peter Yap collided approaching the winning post.

Jimmaringle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury. A stand down period of 60 days was imposed.

Meehan Dan and Secret Business collided approaching the first turn checking Secret Business. Another What and Supreme Prince collided on the first turn checking Supreme Prince. Another What, Dubovka, Supreme Prince, Super Stoked, Augustus Dagloop and Secret Business collided on the first turn checking Dubovka, Supreme Prince, Super Stoked, Augustus Dagloop and Secret Business. Secret Business checked off Supreme Prince on the home turn.

Whiskey Rose and Tanazoo collided on the first turn checking Tanazoo and Parish Power. Honestly Bob and Parish Power collided several times on the home turn and early in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Parish Power was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left fore leg. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Mepunga Bonnie.

Hannibal Spectre was slow to begin. Southwood Ace was very slow to begin (3L). Hannibal Spectre and Possibly collided approaching the first turn checking Possibly. Possibly and Southwood Ace collided on the first turn. Clear Sense, Lady Pippa, Anita's Girl and Hannibal Spectre collided on the first turn checking Lady Pippa. Southwood Ace and Lady Pippa collided approaching the home turn. Clear Sense and Anita's Girl collided entering the home straight.

Mo Dragon and Oleg collided soon after the start. Humble Gun, Crackerjack Roy, Oleg and Mo Dragon collided on the first turn checking Mo Dragon. Humble Gun and Critic collided approaching the second turn and on the second turn. Oleg and Mo Dragon collided approaching the home turn. Humble Gun faded in the home straight.

Humble Gun was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration between the 4th & 5th toes on the right hind foot. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr G Gledhill, about the performance of Humble Gun and, afeter considering the full circumstances, took no further action.   

A pre-race sample was taken from Clovalley Mansumi.

Lektra Timon and Bletchley collided soon after the start checking Bletchley. Proven Les, Bletchley and Night Theory collided approaching the first turn checking Night Theory which tailed off. Bletchley clipped the heels of Before My Time on the first turn. Bletchley raced wide entering the home straight.

Night Theory was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left dew claw. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Wilson, the trainer of the greyhound Night Theory.  Stewards deemed the performance of Night Theory unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Night Theory must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Wilson about his attitude when preparing Night Theory for the race.  Mr Wilson said that it had not been his intention to offend anyone.  Stewards accepted his explanation and reminded him of GRV's expectations.
