Mr John Mangion, trainer of Sketchy Skinny declared a new weight of 32.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sketchy Skinny last raced at 33.6kg.
Mr Kevin Eyles, trainer of Big Barra declared a new weight of 33.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Big Barra last raced at 31.2kg.
Shazza Weetbix and Sketchy Skinny were quick to begin.
Shadow Bo was very slow to begin (4L). Hotspur Joey and Shazza Weetbix collided approaching the first turn. Lethal Levi, Sketchy Skinny, Shazza Weetbix and Hotspur Joey collided on the first turn checking Sketchy Skinny and Shazza Weetbix which contacted the running rail. Big Barra lost ground in the home straight.
Shazza Weetbix was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Shadow Bo was vetted and re-vetted following race 6. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right chest muscle and left pencil muscle. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Big Barra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triangle and groin muscles. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
