Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Wharfies Girl, scratched from this event on 20 June 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Zipping Buck and Vixstar were slow to begin.
Vixstar and Mahi Indian collided soon after the start. Siamese Dream checked off Khaleesi Girl on the first turn causing Siamese Dream and Mahi Indian to collide. Vixstar contacted the running rail on the first turn. Rockin' Roz, Zipping Buck and Khaleesi Girl collided approaching the second turn checking Khaleesi Girl and Jaclyn Bale. Khaleesi Girl and Mahi Indian collided entering the back straight severely checking Khaleesi Girl. Rockin' Roz checked off Vixstar approaching the home turn. Zipping Buck and Vixstar collided on the home turn.
Vixstar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left deltoid and left shoulder soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Miss Emma Palma, the representative of Vixstar regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Brazilian Brae - winner of the event.
