Steward's Report

Samples were taken from Pistol, Beluga Diamond and Spritely Malibu earlier today, during a kennel visit by Stewards.

A pre race sample was taken from Slick Diamond.

Sunlit Breaker, Gappy Hilmore and Slick Diamond collided soon after the start, checking Maggie Mikado. Sunlit Breaker and Beluga Diamond collided on the first turn, checking Sunlit Breaker. Gappy Hilmore, Slick Diamond and Sub Zero Magic collided on the first turn, checking Spritely Malibu, and severely checking Slick Diamond, Maggie Mikado gallop on the heels of Slick Diamond as a result, causing Slick Diamond to falter and tail off. Sunlit Breaker and Sub Zero Magic collided approaching the home turn. Maggie Mikado checked off Spritely Malibu approaching the home turn. Gappy Hilmore and Maggie Mikado raced wide in the home straight. 

Slick Diamond was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Shady Whip trialled over the 311m from box one, weight 31.6kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of five. The time of the trial was 17.90, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.5 lengths. Shady Whip was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms. Uta Bickerton, the trainer of Pacific Reef regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Pacific Reef last raced on 20th September 2017. Ms. Bickerton stated that the greyhound had a spell and was recovering from a  left triangle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Pacific Reef trialled over the 311m from box three, weight 32.1kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 17.90, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.25 lengths. Pacific Reef was Cleared. (Pacific Reef and Brakae collided several times from the first turn to the home turn, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.)

Satisfactory Trial Results - Brakae trialled over the 311m from box five, weight 32.9kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 17.90, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.5 lengths. Brakae was Cleared. (Pacific Reef and Brakae collided several times from the first turn to the home turn, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.)

Satisfactory Trial Results - Happy Allen trialled over the 311m from box seven, weight 25.5kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of five. The time of the trial was 17.90, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.5 lengths. Happy Allen was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. Gregory Carter, the trainer of  Why Not Jojo regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Why Not Jojo last raced on 5th November 2017. Mr. Carter stated that the greyhound had whelped a litter. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Why Not Jojo trialled over the 311m from box eight, weight 31.1kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of five. The time of the trial was 17.90, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.25 lengths. Why Not Jojo was Cleared.
