Shirdale Casey and Talitha Cumi were slow to begin.  Soda Ezy, Shirdale Casey and Punch Out collided soon after the start, checking Shirdale Casey and Soda Ezy.  Skinny Gache faltered soon after the start and tailed off.  Spritely Star crossed to the rail at the 200m mark.  Shirdale Casey and Punch Out collided at the 150m mark.

Skinny Gache was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a sprained right carpal, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Soda Ezy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track surface soon after the start and deemed it safe for racing. 

A pre race sample was taken from Dad's Honour.

Dad's Honour, Avoided Chaos and Micro Midgee were slow to begin.  Avoided Chaos crossed to the outside at the 300m mark and collided with Micro Midgee.  Vallexia and Big Holiday collided approaching the winning post.

Vallexia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre race sample was taken from Bushiri.

Bushiri and Matomax were slow to begin and collided at the 250m mark.  Doorkeeper and Ryder Sir collided approaching the 150m mark.  Evil Shadow and Prince Mark collided at the 100m mark and again approaching the winning post.

Matomax was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre race sample was taken from Vitaliser.

Glory Fire and Hot Cruiser collided soon after the start and at the 200m mark.

Merl's Michu was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising and spike wounds to the right hind foot (sesamoid area), a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Adam Richardson, the trainer of Mepunga Giant regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mepunga Giant last raced on 13 March 2018 and is returning after a left metacarpal injury.

Quena Dee Air and Wolf Point collided soon after the start.  Challis Sprite and Mepunga Giant collided soon after the start.

A pre race sample was taken from Xan Mai.

Destini Florida was slow to begin.  Lucky Millie and Why Not Senor collided soon after the start, checking Lucky MIllie and Ido Voodoo.  Lucky Millie crossed to the outside at the 300m mark.  On Billy's Wings checked off Fancy Hope at the 275m mark.  On Billy's Wings and Mon Mekki Kahn collided at the 200m mark, checking Mon Mekki Kahn.

Lucky Millie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hind toe, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Tyllah Cornell and issued her with a severe reprimand after she failed to catch the greyhound Fancy Hope in this event, GAR 86(0).

Royal Bruno, Justa Jezza and Blackjack's Back collided at the 300m mark, checking Royal Bruno, Blackjack's Back and Unbackable.  Unbackable and Royal Bruno collided at the 100m mark.  Rocky Rooster checked off Pinciotti at the 100m mark.  Rocky Rooster and Pinciotti collided several times approaching the winning post.

Rocky Rooster was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle and right hamstring, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeff Gorgioski regarding the racing manners of Rocky Rooster approaching the winning post. Mr Gorgioski stated that Rocky Rooster is a natural railer and after checking off Pinciotti at the 100m mark he believed that Rocky Rooster was trying to get back to the rail, in turn colliding several times with Pinciotti. Stewards noted Mr Gorgioski's explanation and took no further action. 

It's All Over, Rhomboid and Petadale were slow to begin.  It's All Over, Bourbon An Kahn and Keep Talking collided approaching the 250m mark, checking It's All Over and Bourbon An Kahn.  Rhomboid checked off Mepunga Dasha at the 250m mark and crossed to the outside.  It's All Over and Bourbon An Kahn collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark, checking Bourbon An Kahn.

Urban Bourbon was a late scratching at 1.13pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Hot Jean and Undetectable collided at the 250m mark.  Leica Cali King and Hot Jean collided at the 200m mark.

Superior Martini was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre race sample was taken from Dapper Diesel.

Dapper Diesel was slow to begin.  Whalephant checked off Gekko soon after the start.  Gekko and Tibby Shore collided at the 300m mark.  Gekko, Whalephant, Tibby Shore and Dapper Diesel collided at the 175m mark, checking Gekko.  Tibby Shore and Dapper Diesel collided at the 150m mark.

Major Energy was slow to begin.  Juno Away and Avatar Minty collided soon after the start.  Juno Away checked off Avatar Minty approaching the 200m mark.

Stewards spoke to Ms Susan Abela, the trainer of My Guardian regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. My Guardian last raced on 21 January 2018 and is returning after a spell.

Mr. Swan was a late scratching at 2.03pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 7 day stand down period was imposed

Samba King was slow to begin.  Piccolo Princess checked off Fiery Nell at the 200m mark, checking My Guardman and Samba King.  Samba King checked off My Guardman at the 175m mark.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs Jodie Elliot, the trainer of Meehan Rosie regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Meehan Rosie last raced on 28 September 2017 and is returning after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Meehan Rosie trialled over the 300m from box 3, weight 26.8, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.04, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1 3/4 lengths. Meehan Rosie was cleared.
