Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Payne, the trainer of Cosmic Fantasy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cosmic Fantasy last raced on 5th February 2018. Mr. Payne stated that the greyound was resuming racing from a cracked right hock. Mr. Payne also declared a new weight of 29.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Fantasy last raced at 30.3kg.

Sunday Driving was slow to begin.

Aqualite and Liberal Jones collided soon after the start. Liberal Jones checked off Aqualite approaching the first turn. Downhill and Liberal Jones collided on the first turn and approaching the home turn. Sunday Driving checked off Liberal Jones in the home straight. Cruising Betty raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Green and reminded him of his responsibilities in regards to the use of mobile phones around the kennelling area (GAR 44). 

Gelert and Go Natalie Go collided soon after the start.

Chisler and Gelert collided approaching the first turn checking Crymelon Phantom. Kiewa River Run checked off Winlock Slim on the first turn causing Winlock Slim to fall and severely checking Kiewa River Run. Chiseller raced wide on the first turn to avoid the fallen greyhound. Gelert checked on the first turn to avoid the fallen greyhound. 

Kiewa River Run was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Winlock Slim was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Leitch, the trainer of Kiewa River Flo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kiewa River Flo last raced on 7th December 2017. Mr. Leitch stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from reproductive issues.

Lucina Motief and Playlord collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Crymelon Zest and Kiewa River Flo collided approaching the first turn. Brooklyn Lad and Militant Gem collided approaching the first turn. Brooklyn Lad checked off Militant Gem on the first turn checking Brooklyn Lad, Nostalgia, Crymelon Zest and Kiewa River Flo, Playlord steadied off the heels of Crymelon Zest as a result. Lucina Motief and Crymelon Zest collided approaching the home turn.

Lucina Motief was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Sterling Archer and Sierra Oasis collided soon after the start. Mercedes Red and My Real Deal collided soon after the start checking My Real Deal. Aston Kirui and Full Of Weetbix collided on the first turn. Sierra Oasis checked off Mercedes Red on the first turn. Dyna Zapto checked off Sterling Archer approaching the home turn. Aston Kirui, Dyna Zapto and Full Of Weetbix collided entering the home straight.

Eddie Eagle was slow to begin.

Eddie Eagle crossed to the rail approaching the second turn checking Joycee Run. Eddie Eagle lost considerable ground from turning off the back straight and tailed off.

Eddie Eagle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed. Stewards queried Trainer Sheldon Hamilton regarding the performance of Eddie Eagle in this event. Mr Hamilton explained that Eddie Eagle had been training and also trailed over similar distances to today's run and in his opinion was adequately conditioned to compete in the event. Mr Hamilton further added that he has stepped the greyhound up in distance since returning from a similar injury. Stewards noted the explanation.

El Grand Knocka, Speedy Ryder and Belt Up Bubbs collided soon after the start. Serious Bolt checked off Hodge's Lane soon after the start. Serious Bolt crossed wide soon after the start. Mr. Stefanos stated that the greyhound was resuming racing from a spell. Mr. Stefanos also declared a new weight of 30.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Eddie last raced at 31.7kg.

Luke Roman was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle injury and a left groin injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

Iceni Crusader was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.

Swift Ruby and Injector collided soon after the start. Spider Regis checked off White Ambush soon after the start causing Spider Regis and Swift Ruby to collided. Nunniong Miss and  White Ambush collided approaching the first turn. Just Banji and Clovally Mansumi collided approaching the first turn. Spider Regis and Swift Ruby collided on the first turn. Clovally Mansumi and Injector collided on the first turn. Clovally Mansumi and Injector collided approaching the home turn. Spider Regis checked off Swift Ruby approaching the home turn checking Swift Ruby. White Ambush, Clovally Mansumi and Injector collided several times in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Chill Out Indy trialled over the 500mt from box 3, weight 29.1kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 28.89, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.75L. Chill Out Indy was cleared.
