Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Mac.
Last Princess was slow to begin.
Top Alcohol, Just Jezza and Piccolo Panther collided on the first turn checking Top Alcohol. Fred's My Name and Hey Alio Fozzio collided on the first turn. Hey Alio Fozzio raced wide to the second turn. Split Chic lost ground approaching the second turn. Split Chic and Last Princess collided approaching the home turn checking Split Chic. Hey Alio Fozzio and Split Chic raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Costa, the trainer of the greyhound Split Chic regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Split Chic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and right hind toe, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Split Chic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Costa pleaded not guilty to the charge, Split Chic was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
