Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Silver Dollar.
Tommy Boy and Soda Flakes were slow to begin. Silver Dollar crossed to the outside soon after the start and raced wide in the front straight. Jessie Feranndo, Owlette and Run The Route collided soon after the start. Jessie Fernando eased on the second turn, checking Tommy Boy and Soda Flakes, Tommy Boy subsequently tailed off. Jessie Fernando and Soda Flakes collided approaching the third turn.
Tommy Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to B Marshall, the trainer of the greyhound Jessie Fernando regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Jessie Fernando was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jessie Fernando with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). B Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge, Jessie Fernando was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
