Steward's Report
Galloping Fantom and Cherokee Shimmer were quick to begin. Zipping Koda and Vixstar were slow to begin. Cherokee Shimmer eased approaching the first turn. Galloping Fantom and Zipping Koda collided approaching the first turn, checking Zipping Koda. Little Big Shot and Seminole Wind collided approaching the first turn, checking Seminole Wind. Zipping Koda checked off Galloping Fantom in the back straight, checking Vixstar. Little Big Shot fell after passing the winning post.
Little Big Shot was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasion to the right achilles, a three day stand down period was imposed.
Cherokee Shiimmer was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Handler, Mr David Bottrell declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr David Bottrell, the handler of the greyhound Cherokee Shimmer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Cherokee Shimmer with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bottrell pleaded guilty to the charge, Cherokee Shimmer was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
