Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D.Boots, the handler of No Recourse regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. No Recourse last raced on 27 November, 2017. Mr Boots stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left triangle injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Movie Icon.
Murrabit Sammy and Nice Surprise were slow to begin.
Launch Time and Nostalgia collided approaching the first turn. Plenty Of It faltered and tailed off approaching the first turn. Launch Time, Nostalgia, Murrabit Sammy and Nice Surprise collided on the first turn. Launch Time, Nostalgia and Murrabit Sammy collided approaching the home turn checking Nostalgia.
Nostalgia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury and a minor laceration to the left hind leg. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Plenty Of It regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Plenty Of It was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right hind toe, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Plenty Of It with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Jones declined to re-vet the greyhound and pleaded guilty to the charge, Plenty Of It was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
