Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Koutsourakis the trainer of the greyhound Deja Vu Rock regarding the length of time the greyhound has had betwee races. Deja Vu Rock last raced on 29th October, 2017. Mr. Koutsourakis stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
Mr. N. Koutsourakis, the trainer of Deja Vu Rock declared a new weight of 32.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Deja Vu Rock last raced at 31.3kgs.
Parumba Chief was slow to begin. Ohana Lad, Belron Bliss, Deja Vu Rock, Lady Bang Bang and Sweet Spolly collided soon after the start checking Belron Bliss, Deja Vu Rock, Lady Bang Bang and Sweet Spolly. Waltz On Bye, Parumba Chief and Deja Vu Rock collided on the first turn checking Deja Vu Rock. Parumba Chief checked off Waltz On Bye on the first turn severely checking Deja Vu Rock. Parumba Chief galloped on Sweet Spolly approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Parumba Chief and Deja Vu Rock collided on the home turn.
Parumba Chief was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. E. Lieshout, the trainer of Parumba Chief regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
