Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Goold, the trainer of Addictive Bryce, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Addictive Bryce last raced on 17 September 2017. Mr Goold stated that the greyhound had been spelling.
World's On Fire raced wide soon after the start and collided with Tzar Norma. Azza crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Oaklands. Fearless Flyer and Oaklands collided at the 300m mark and again at the 250m mark. Shifty Joshua crossed to the outside at the 250mtr mark and raced wide throughout the event. Fearless Flyer, Oaklands and Addictive Bryce collided approaching the 200m mark, checking all three greyhounds. Oaklands and Addictive Bryce collided at the 150m mark. Shifty Joshua lost ground from the 150mtr mark. Fearless Flyer and My Wrecker collided at the 100m mark. Oaklands checked off My Wrecker approaching the winning post.
Azza was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Shifty Joshua was vetted and revetted following event twelve. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No veterinary stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory McLachlan, the trainer of the greyhound Shifty Joshua. Stewards deemed the performance of Shifty Joshua unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, directed that Shifty Joshua must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
