Steward's Report
Kennels closed approximately 8 minutes late due to several late scratchings during the kennelling process.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Matthews, the trainer of Janray Squawker regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Janray Squawker last raced on 13 October 2017 and is returning after a spell.
Don's Gas was slow to begin. Tiaro Jo, Miss Lana Bear and Wolf's Nightcall collided soon after the start checking Tiaro Jo and Wolf's Nightcall. Tiaro Jo checked off Wolf's Nightcall approaching the 250mtr mark and crossed to the outside. Awesome Cruising and Don's Gas collided approaching the 250mtr mark. Wolf's Nightcall checked off Miss Lana Bear at the 250mtr mark checking Miss Lana Bear. Awesome Cruising lost ground at the 150mtr mark.
Awesome Cruising was vetted following the event and after being revetted following event 4 it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. J. Mangion, the trainer of Awesome Cruising regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 150mtr mark.
