Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Lachlan Monelli.
Rig Fifty Five, Lachlan Monelli and Benali collided soon after the start. Out Of Range, Benali, Rig Fifty Five and Lachlan Monelli collided approaching the first turn checking Benali and Rig Fifty Five and severely checking Lachlan Monelli. Alpha Lucky, Out Of Range and Rig Fifty Five collided approaching the first turn. Out Of Range and Rig Fifty Five collided on the first turn checking Out Of Range. Benali, Alpha Lucky and Rig Fifty Five collided approaching the second turn severely checking all three greyhounds which raced wide as a result. Out Of Range galloped on the heels of Brueghelino on the third turn checking Out Of Range and Lachlan Monelli. Benali faltered on the third turn. Brueghelino and Equanimity collided entering the home straight.
Benali was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right calf muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
