That Will Be was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Woodleigh Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right quadriceps muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Ferguson, the trainer of the greyhound Catcha Nugget regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Catcha Nugget was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor abrasion on both feet.  No stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Catcha Nugget with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge,  Catcha Nugget was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

One More Light was quick to begin.  Beanology, Feikuai Gazza and Spectator were slow to begin.  Beanology and Feikuai Gazza collided approaching the first turn checking Feikui Gazza.  Feikuai Gazza hit the running rail on the first turn.  Aston Liesel and One More Light collided on the first turn checking One More Light, Denny Blue and Aston Liesel.  One More Light checked off Power Gem approaching the home turn.  Aston Liesel and Power Gem collided approaching the home turn checking Power Gem.  Feikuai Gazza eased on the home turn checking Spectator and several times in the home straight.  One More Light and Aston Liesel raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan, the representative of the greyhound Feikuai Gazza regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Feikuai Gazza was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising and abrasions on the left hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Feikuai Gazza with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Whelan pleaded guilty to the charge, Feikuai Gazza was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. G. McMillan, trainer of Soda Spike declared a new weight of 31.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Soda Spike last raced at 29.9kgs.

Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy, trainer of Tail Inspector declared a new weight of 30.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Tail Inspector last raced at 28.9kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Wanjiro.

Bergal and Soda Spike were quick to begin.  Tail Inspector and Rare Gem collided soon after the start checking Tail Inspector.  Parumba Taylah crossed in approaching the first turn checking Wanjiro, Rare Gem, Soda Spike and Bergal and causing Bergal to stumble.  Tail Inspector contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Parumba Taylah and Good Old Days collided on the first turn checking Parumba Taylah, Good Old Days and Rare Gem.  Parumba Taylah checked off Wanjiro approaching the home turn.  Soda Spike checked off Parumba Taylah on the home turn.

Tail Inspector was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion on the left hind hock and soreness in the left triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Velocity Whisper and Flying Elite were quick to begin.  Pictures To Burn was slow to begin.  Azure Dragon and El Tigera collided soon after the start checking Azure Dragon.  Undercover Viv galloped on Flying Elite on the first turn checking Azure Dragon and Lakeview Grace and severely checking Undercover Viv, Flying Elite, El Tigera and Pictures To Burn.  Undercover Viv and El Tigera collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Pictures To Burn checked off Flying Elite on the home turn.  El Tigera and Lakeview Grace raced wide in the home straight.

Loaded was slow to begin.  Urban Bourbon, Chief's Empire and Let Him Ride collided soon after the start checking Urban Bourbon and Let Him Ride.  Urban Bourbon checked off Let Him Ride on the first turn.  Chief's Empire and Ima Rockstar collided on the first turn checking Aston Marshall, Chief's Empire, Let Him Ride and Loaded, severely checking Ima Rockstar and Rose Rose causing Ima Rockstar to stumble and lose considerable ground and Urban Bourbon to race wide as a result.  Aston Marshall and Let Him Ride collided approaching the home turn checking Let Him Ride.  Loaded raced wide in the home straight

Chief's Empire was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor abrasion on the left hind foot and soreness in the lower back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Ima Rockstar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right back muscle injury and a left pencil muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Payne, the trainer of Cosmic Yessam regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cosmic Yessam last raced on 4th November, 2017.  Ms. Payne stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennels.

Ms. M. Payne trainer of Cosmic Yessam declared a new weight of 34.9kgs in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Cosmic Yessam last raced at 33.5kgs.

An Out Of Competition Sample was taken from the following greyhounds engaged in this event on 15th February, 2018 pursuant ot GAR 79A. - Heard It Before and Riviera Cruz.

Cosmic Yessam, Heard It Before and Lakeview Maisey were quick to begin.  Heard It Before crossed in soon after the start checking Pia.  Bobby's Baby and Hurunui Jack collided soon after the start.  Heard It Before crossed in on the first turn checking Cosmic Yessam, Vens Revenge, Riviera Cruz, Lakeview Maisey and Pia.  Riviera Cruz and Vens Revenge collided entering the back straight checking Vens Revenge and Lakeview Maisey.  Cosmic Yessam and Vens Revenge collided approaching the home turn checking Cosmic Yessam.  Lakeview Maisey raced wide in the home straight.

Cosmic Yessam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to hsave soreness in both shoulders and both pencil muscles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out Of Competition Sample was taken from Tidelina engaged in this event on 15th February, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Tidelina, Charly Shu Shine and Dyna Maple were slow to begin.  Cosmic Act crossed in on the first turn checking Kalani Amy.  Charly Shu Shine checked off Dyna Maple on the first turn.  Dyna Maple checked off Crash Reality on the first turn.  Tidelina and Charly Shu Shine raced wide in the home straight.

Bye Bye Brad was quick to begin.  Where's Lachie was slow to begin.  Surgical Wally and Perrie Lulu collided on the first turn checking Surgical Wally, Macalister Mac and Perrie Lulu.  Where's Lachie checked off Miss Peanut approaching the home turn.  Where's Lachie and Miss Peanut collided on the home turn checking Miss Peanut.  Surgical Wally, Macalister Mac and Miss Peanut collided on the home turn and again in the home straight checking all three greyhounds.

Little Dynamo was quick to begin.  Aston Olivia and So Easy were slow to begin.  Racey Rose and Aston Olivia collided on the first turn checking Racey Rose and Liberty Diamond and severely checking Aston Olivia which stumbled and lost ground.  So Easy and Our Echo Rose collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Little Dynamo and Kiss Me Marday collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  So Easy and Our Echo Rose raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy, the trainer of Slick Maggie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Slick Maggie last raced on 10th November, 2017.  Mr. Carrodus-Nagy stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after an illness.

Mac and Slick Maggie were slow to begin.  Aston Bolt, Woodleigh Blaze and Hundred collided soon after the start checking Woodleigh Blaze and Hundred.  Sharp Missile eased on the first turn.  Aston Bolt checked off Lonesome Katie on the first turn.  Hundred and Slick Maggie collided approaching the home turn checking Slick Maggie.  Woodleigh Blaze and Slick Maggie collided approaching the home turn checking Woodleigh Blaze.  Woodleigh Blaze lost ground on the home turn.  Denied Justice and Mac raced wide in the home straight.

Woodleigh Blaze was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right quadriceps muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Sharp Missile was vetted and after being re vetted following the event, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S.Spoljaric, the trainer of the greyhound Sharp Missile regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sharp Missile with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Spoljaric pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sharp Missile was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lou's Dreams was quick to begin.  Miss Taryn was slow to begin.  Thank Me Later checked off Urban Street approaching the first turn.  Benny's Legend checked off Thank Me Later on the first turn causing Benny's Legend to contact the running rail as a result.  Lou's Dreams checked off Riccarton approaching the home turn.  Thank Me Later raced wide in the home straight.

Benny's Legend was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results -  Kokoda Bobby trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 30.8kgs,  the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.64,  the greyhound won by a margin of 6.25 lengths,  Kokoda Bobby eased on the first turn and was Not Cleared.
