A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Mepunga Reign, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Pretty Sensation and Nitro Value were slow to begin. Ledgerwood Road, Lush Life and Mepunga Reign collided soon after the start, checking Lush Life and Miracles Happen. Thomeli Rocket and Ledgerwood Road collided approaching the first turn. Nitro Value checked off Ledgerwood Road on the first turn, checking Mepunga Reign, Kiss Me Razley and Miracles Happen. Ledgerwood Road and Thomeli Rocket collided approaching the home turn. Lush Life checked off Mepunga Reign on the home turn. Ledgerwood Road shifted out in the home straight and collided with Nitro Value. Nitro Value galloped on the heels of Ledgerwood Road in the home straight. Mepunga Reign and Kiss Me Razley collided in the home straight.
Ledgerwood Road was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. McDowall, the trainer of the greyhound Ledgerwood Road. Stewards deemed the performance of Ledgerwood Road unsatisfactory in this event in particular from approaching the home turn until the winning past and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Ledgerwood Road must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
