Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting is marked as 'Hot Weather Affected' due to the forecasted temperature of 34 degrees.
Moonbeam and Damaging Lomar were slow to begin.
Semantic Shift and Run It Straight collided approaching the first turn. Talbragar River checked off Run Ronnie Run approaching the first turn. Damaging Lomar galloped on Raven Joe approaching the first turn. Moonbeam galloped on Run It Straight approaching the first turn. Raven Joe, Moonbeam and Damaging Lomar collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds. Run It Straight and Dominant Lomar collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Dominant Lomar checked off Run It Straight on the home turn.
Damaging Lomar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a superficial spike wound to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Over the period 13-14 February, the track surface was deep harrowed, re-sanded and the camber was increased by raising the outside 150mm on the top turn - from leaving the back straight to entering the home straight. On Friday 16 February the Club conducted 80 trials and the best times were: 390m 22.20 and 450m 25.54.
