Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Drummond, the trainer of Pepper Shiraz regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Pepper Shiraz last raced on 26th September 2017. Mr. Drummond stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from an extended spell.

Another Bekim was quick to begin.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hansen, the handler of Elsie Jean regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Elsie Jean last raced on 9th November 2017. Mr. Hansen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from a seasonal break.

Tiger Sprite, Shore Money, Hillbilly June, Elsie Jean and Double Ya Back collided approaching the first turn checking Shore Money, Hillbilly June, Elsie Jean and Double Ya Back. Short Money faltered and lost ground on the first turn. Miss Lana Bear, Elsie Jean and Double Ya Back collided approaching the home turn checking Elsie Jean and Double Ya Back.

Shore Money was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury. A satnd down period of 7 days was imposed.

Rustic Rose went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4L).

Balance and Chloe Crumpet were slow to begin.

Mr. M. Lowe, trainer of Nick declared a new weight of 31.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Nick last raced at 32.8kg.

Kaluah Rose crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Ain't No Luck, Southwood Bill, Not Enough Cash, Hardaway Kate and Nick. Hardaway Kate checked off Ain't No Luck on the first turn. Nick and Not Enough Cash collided on the first turn checking Nick.

Bagpipes Billy and Heavy Pockets were slow to begin.

Seabrook Gem, Sunday Sipper and Heavy Pockets collided on the first turn checking Sunday Sipper, Heavy Pockets and Deadly Pace. Sunday Sipper checked off Heavy Pockets approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Trickster's Son.

Dazzling Diva faltered soon after the start, lost ground and failed to take any competitive part in the event. Trickster's Son, Sam's General, Hey Alio Fozzio and Alcyone collided on the first turn checking Sam's General, Hey Alio Fozzio and Alcyone. Alcyone and Sam's General collided in the back straight checking Sam's General. Hey Alio Fozzio raced wide on the second turn. Alcyone and Hey Alio Fozzio collided on the home  turn and entering the home straight.

Dazzling Diva was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left back muscle. A stand down period of 60 days was imposed.

Captain Pete went up with the lids at box rise, was slow to begin and failed to take any competitive part in the event.

Booming Zulus and Cinnamon Cindy collided on the first turn checking Cinnamon Cindy, Bomber Lane, Open Mind and Red Winston. Cinnamon Cindy checked off Bomber Lane approaching the home turn. Red Winston and Open Mind collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. 

Captain Pete was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to an abdominal muscle. A stand down period 10 days was imposed.

Windsor Reign, Crainy's Wish and Game Spirit were slow to begin. Rattle Gate and Justa Jezza collided on the first turn. Justa Jezza and Crainy's Wish collided entering the back straight. Kraken Ridge and Snapchat Queen collided approaching the second turn checking Kraken Ridge and Windsor Reign. Game Spirit raced wide to the second turn. Windsor Reign and Kraken Ridge collided approaching the home turn. Snapchat Queen checked off Crainy's Wish approaching the home turn. Game Spirit raced wide on the home turn. Just Teefa and Justa Jezza collided approaching the winning post.

Mr. N. Jenner, trainer of Destini Lima declared a new weight of 39.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Destini Lima last raced at 38.3kg.

Emgee Sprinter was slow to begin.

Emgee Sprinter galloped on the heels of Vincent Benedict on the first turn checking Emgee Sprinter, St. Regis and Leon's Wish and severely checking Destini Lima which tailed off as a result. St. Regis raced wide on the home turn.

Destini Lima was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the neck and left triangle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Rocket Ruby was slow to begin.

Gambler's Loot, Beksun and It Is Done collided on the first turn checking Beksun and It Is Done. It Is Done and Xera Bale collided in the back straight checking Xera Bale. Rocket Ruby and Kraken Lil collided in the back straight. Beksun eased and lost ground on the second turn. It Is Done and Kraken Lil collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Xera Bale and It Is Done collided on the home turn.

Beksun was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Mason, the trainer of the greyhound Beksun regarding the greyhounds racing manners on second turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Beksun with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Mason pleaded guilty to the charge, Beksun was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Shimmy Dat Ray and Placid Murphy were slow to begin.

Shimmy Dat Ray checked off Doc Nam approaching the first turn checking Shimmy Dat Ray and Placid Murphy. Kraken Titch checked off Doc Nam on the home turn.

Hashtag Johnny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from number 8 Tanazoo. Lonesome Spring and Bill Swagger were slow to begin.

Lonesome Spring ran wide on the back straight..Jacko Day was checked off Soeztoc on the first turn.  

Lonesome Spring, Tanazoo and Gidgee's Boss collided on the first turn, checking Tanazoo and Gidgee's Boss.

Stewards finalised an Inquiry into the late scratching (09:12) of  Burrawonga Jimbo (Race 5 #2).  Stewards accepted the evidence of Mr Birthisel without reservation, and, on that basis, were satisfied that exceptional circumstances existed.  Mr Birthisel was reminded of his obligations under GAR.23(1)(a)..
