Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to G Condon, the trainer of Scooter regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Scooter last raced on 1 September 2017. G Condon stated that the greyhound had been spelled.
Stewards spoke to K Mitchell, the trainer of Hilary's Beers regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hilary's Beers last raced on 11 August 2017. K Mitchell stated that the greyhound had recently changed kennels.
G Condon, trainer of Scooter declared a new weight of 29.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Scooter last raced at 28kgs.
Springinator and Startron were quick to begin. Springinator, Cullquin Daario, Fourth Dimention and Scooter collided soon after the start, checking all four greyhounds. Springinator and Tyche Onyx collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Springinator, Cullquin Daario, Tyche Onyx and Tinker Ben and severely checking Hilary's Beers, which stumbled and lost considerable ground. Cullquin Daario checked off Hilary's Beers at the 200m mark.
Tinker Ben was vetted after falling between the winning post and the catching pen. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Scooter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Hilary's Beers was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey msucle and right chest muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
