An out of competition sample was taken from Knuckles engaged in this event on 31/01/18 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Ms. C. Barnard the trainer of Promiscuous declared a new weight of 28.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Promiscuous last raced at 30.3kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Traveller.
Traveller was slow to begin. Like My Bro and Cosmic Reign collided approaching the first turn checking Cosmic Reign. Traveller and Like My Bro collided on the first turn checking Like My Bro and Hurricane Billie. Promiscuous was checked off Knuckles on the first turn checking Hurricane Billie, Cosmic Reign and Dr. Annie and severely checking Traveller, Honeysuckle Jim and Promiscuous causing Promiscuous to fall, Traveller, Hurricane Billie and Honeysuckle Jim raced wide as a result. Hurricane Billie was checked off Dr. Annie on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Traveller was checked off Like My Bro in the home straight. Hurricane Billie and Dr. Annie collided in the home straight.
Promiscuous was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
