Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Limit Man.
Don's Gas was slow to begin.
Secret's Out and Blond Annie collided soon after the start severely checking both greyhounds, Blond Annie fell as a result. Elphaba Oz and Limit Man collided approaching the first turn. Big Mary, Chloe Crumpet and Limit Man collided on the first turn checking Chloe Crumpet and Elphaba Oz. Don's Gas checked off Elphaba Oz on the first turn. Chloe Crumpet raced wide on the home turn.
Blond Annie was vetted following th event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke with Geelong Club Staff as the curtain used to secure greyhounds when pulling up was not effectively deployed for this race. As a result, three greyhounds were secured by their race-rugs as they ran past the 400m starting boxes. It was advised that the curtain was entangled and could not be stretched across the track. The matter has been referred to GRV Racing/Operation Dept. for clarification of any established procedures with staff to ensure a repeat is avoided.
