Stewards spoke to Mrs J. Wilson, the trainer of Hillbilly Diva regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hillbilly Diva last raced on 8 December 2017 and is returning from a seasonal break.

Gypsy Kiowa and Sirius Matters were quick to begin.  White Swirl and Dyna Fizz were slow to begin.

Sirius Matters and Gypsy Kiowa collided approaching the first turn checking Gypsy Kiowa.  White Swirl and Crymelon Annie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Zipping Stan and Hillbilly Diva collided on the first turn checking Hillbilly Diva.  

Acting on veterinarian advice, the greyhounds were not paraded due to the humid conditions. The greyhounds went straight to the boxes and  did so for the resr of the races.

Miss Skye High and Brindle Brae were quick to begin.  Yolk's Boy and Gunmetal Liam were slow to begin.

Our Rocket checked off Daytona Fernando soon after the start.  Daytona Fernando and Miss Skye High collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Skye High.  Miss Skye High, Gunmetal Liam and Our Rocket collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Don’s Queen and New Fire Girl collided on the first turn.  Our Rocket checked off Don's Queen approaching the home turn.  Miss Skye High raced wide on the home turn.  Gunmetal Liam and New Fire Girl collided in the home straight.  Gunmetal Liam and Brindle Brae collided in the home straight.  Brindle Brae and Don's Queen collided approaching the winning post.

Miss Skye High was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist sprain, left monkey muscle and left chest injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke with Trainer Jason Sharp about the performance and significant wagering support for Daytona Fernando (9) who won this event in 22.93. Connections advised that Daytona Fernando suffered significant interference at his previous start and had trialled in-between runs in a slightly slower time than tonight. The significant betting activity was not kennel support. A sample was taken from Daytona Fernando - winner of the event.

Mr K. Davies, trainer of Magic Muzza declared a new weight of 33.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Magic Muzza last raced at 32.2kgs.

Sarah Smirnoff and Loch Nine were quick to begin.  Shadow Bo was slow to begin.

Festivus checked off Saintly Jack soon after the start.  Sarah Smirnoff and Loch Nine collided approaching the first turn.  Magic Muzza galloped on Kurri Kurri approaching the first turn checking Magic Muzza and severely checking Kurri Kurri which fell.  Miracle Gem galloped on Loch Nine on the first turn checking Loch Nine and Miracle Gem.  Festivus galloped on Loch Nine on the first turn checking Loch Nine, Shadow Bo and severely checking Festivus which fell.  

Kurri Kurri was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right wrist sprains, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Secret's Out and Blond Annie collided soon after the start severely checking both greyhounds, Blond Annie fell as a result.  Elphaba Oz and Limit Man collided approaching the first turn.  Big Mary, Chloe Crumpet and Limit Man collided on the first turn checking Chloe Crumpet and Elphaba Oz.  Don's Gas checked off Elphaba Oz on the first turn.  Chloe Crumpet raced wide on the home turn.

Blond Annie was vetted following th event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke with Geelong Club Staff as the curtain used to secure greyhounds when pulling up was not effectively deployed for this race. As a result, three greyhounds were secured by their race-rugs as they ran past the 400m starting boxes. It was advised that the curtain was entangled and could not be stretched across the track. The matter has been referred to GRV Racing/Operation Dept. for clarification of any established procedures with staff to ensure a repeat is avoided.

Mr S, Smith, the representative of Gagey's Snags declared a new weight of 32.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Gagey's Snags last raced at 31.2kgs.

Time Away stumbled soon after the start and lost ground (3 lengths).  Soda Flash, Gagey's Snags and Xevra Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Soda Flash and Gagey's Snags.  Soda Flash galloped on Redhead Chez on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Time Away and Hillbilly June collided on the first turn checking Hillbilly June.  Redhead Chez raced wide on the home turn causing Soda Flash to race wide.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr S, Smith, the representative of My Boy Roman regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  My Boy Roman last raced on 7 September 2017 and is returning from a toe operation. Pursuant to GAR 77A, My Boy Roman trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 33.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 1/2 lengths. My Boy Roman was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms L. Courts, the trainer of Eranna Bale regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Eranna Bale last raced on 19 August 2017 and is returning from a carpal injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Eranna Bale trialled over the 400mtrs from box 3, weight 28.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Eranna Bale was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Dyna Alita trialled over the 400mtrs from box 7, weight 23.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 1/2 lengths. Dyna Alita was Cleared.
