Sassy Slyder went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (5L).
Sweet Potato and Sierra Oasis collided soon after the start. Zipping Spud, Buddy's Entity and Sierra Oasis collided approaching the first turn checking Sierra Oasis. Sweet Potato and Zipping Abbot collided approaching the first turn checking Sweet Potato. Buddy's Entity clipped the heels of Zipping Abbot entering the home straight.
Sassy Slyder was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a neck injury. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
A sample was taken from Zipping Abbot, winner of the event.
Stewards delayed the all clear to view all available video footage of the start of the event and deemed it was a fair start and the all clear was subsequently given.
