A pre-race sample was taken from Sirius Matters.
The start was delayed by one minute, due to Trew Danger being re-vetted following an incidient during the stir-up and was passed fit to run.
Dyna Jenaya and St Pauli were quick to begin. Seeka Moment, Trew Danger and Double Date collided approaching the first turn. Sirius Matters checked off Hot Devil approaching the first turn. Seeka Moment, Dyna Jenaya, Trew Danger and Double Date collided on the first turn, checking Double Date, Sirius Matters and Shimmy Dat Ray. Trew Danger galloped on the heels of Hot Devil on the first turn, checking Hot Devil and Sirius Matters, and severely checking Trew Danger.
Trew Danger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg thigh muscle injury, an abrasion to right hock and brusing to right thigh, a five day stand down period was imposed.
