Quest Allen was a late scratching at 1:45 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a laceration to the bottom left paw .  A three day day stand down period was imposed.

Mr Troy Scott, trainer of Brocky, declared a new weight of 32.1 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Brocky last raced at 30.7 kgs.

Dyna Alita was slow to begin.  Keep On Runnin' and Punch Out collided approaching the first turn, checking Punch Out.  Five Times Table and Mini Fernando collided approaching the first turn.  Mini Fernando checked off the heels of Poppy Yaala on the first turn.  Keep On Runnin' and Brocky collided on the first turn.  Punch Out checked off Dyna Alita on the first turn.  Punch Out raced wide on the home turn.

Our Harley Quinn and Limburg Sprite were quick to begin.  Shadow Bo was slow to begin.  Fish Armo and Johnny Utah collided soon after the start.  Limburg Sprite, Bat The Brat and Fish Armo collided on the first turn, checking Bat The Brat.  Fish Armo checked off Limburg Sprite approaching the home turn.  Our Harley Quinn and Da End collided approaching the home turn.  Bat The Brat checked off the heels of Limburg Sprite on the home turn and collided with Fish Armo, resulting in both greyhounds racing wide.  Kissable and Johnny Utah collided in the home straight.

Golden Gem was quick to begin.  Inga Ross and Lorian Victory were slow to begin.  Muzzle Welsh, Lorian Victory and Octo Flash collided soon after the start, checking Lorian Victory.  Lorian Victory and Muzzle Welsh collided on the first turn.  Muzzle Welsh and Not Enough Cash raced wide approaching the second turn.  Lorian Victory and Octo Flash collided approaching the third turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sarah Smirnoff.

Fawn Secrets, Al's In Trouble and Xevra Allen were slow to begin.  Sarah Smirnoff and Beanie Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Beanie Allen.  Fawn Secrets checked off Sarah Smirnoff on the first turn and collided with Al's In Trouble, resulting in Al's In Trouble being checked, and Fawn Secrets being severely checked.  Cruising Solo and Raine Allen collided on the first turn, severely checking Cruising Solo.  Pinnaroo and Xevra Allen collided approaching the home turn.  Cruising Solo and Fawn Secrets raced wide on the home turn.  Sarah Smirnoff checked off the heels of Xevra Allen entering the home straight.

Cruising Solo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left foreleg paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

Fawn Secrets was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor abrasion beneath stopper pad left hindleg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Deborah White, trainer of Fawn Secrets, regarding the greyhound’s performance.  Ms White stated that she expected Fawn Secrets to perform better during the event based on the greyhounds trailing performances, that the greyhound preferred an outside box, and that the interference Fawn Secrets received during the event all affected the greyhound's performance in today’s event.  Stewards noted Ms White's explanation and no further action was taken.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Kadabra Monelli engaged in this event on 21 April 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dynastic Ruler.

Kadabra Monelli and Just Run Left collided soon after the start.  Kadbra Monelli, Fred's My Name and Alpha Nyx collided approaching the first turn.  Fred's My Name and Alpha Nyx collided on the first turn.  Kadabra Monelli checked off Fifty Dollar on the first turn, checking Alpha Nyx and Fred's My Name, and severely checking Sena Bale which fell and checked Just Run Left.  Fred's My Name crossed to the rail approaching the home turn checking Just Run Left. Kadabra Monelli and Alpha Nyx collided on the home turn.  

Media Street was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Sena Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right hindleg thigh injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Just Run Left was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury and a spike wound on the left foreleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Frank Meyer, trainer of Just Run Left, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Mr Meyer stated that his greyhound had received interference from Sena Bale when it fell during the event and had become unsteady.  Stewards took Mr Meyer’s evidence and race footage into account and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.

Paranoia and Suspicious Lee collided soon after the start, checking Paranoia.  Suspicious Lee checked off Fear Fire approaching the first turn.  Loch Mac, Take My Money and Lady La Deeda collided approaching the first turn.  Paranoia checked off Loch Mac on the first turn.  Destini Pegasus and Patchie Thief collided approaching the winning post.

Mask and Jellybean Jess were slow to begin.  Rocket Riley checked off Massive Attack soon after the start.  Massive Attack, Uni Allen and Puffin' Stuff collided approaching the first turn, checking Uni Allen.  Mask and Scott Cosmic collided on the first turn.  Rocket Riley and Jellybean Jess raced wide on the home turn.  Mask raced wide entering the home straight.  Puffin' Stuff raced wide approaching the winning post.

Scott Cosmic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail to the left foreleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Emgee Sprinter was slow to begin.  Ima Rebel, Charlotte Allen and Rapid Rock collided approaching the first turn.  Rapid Rock, Charlotte Allen and Toffee Lady collided on the first turn, checking Toffee Lady, Leeroy Rox and Charlotte Allen.  Emgee Sprinter and Toffee Lady collided approaching the home turn, checking Toffee Lady.  Crackerjack Jim and Nambrok Agent collided on the home turn.

Toffee Lady was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr John Rennie, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Leeroy Rox.  Stewards directed that Leeroy Rox be boxed first in future events.

A pre-race sample was taken from Giant Jarvis.

Lancome Lady was quick to begin.  No More Sisco and Giant Jarvis were slow to begin.  Bud Husky and Inga Red collided soon after the start.  Handsome Jake checked off Bud Husky on the first turn and collided with No More Sisco and Inga Red; Handsome Jake lost ground as a result.  No More Sisco and Inga Red collided approaching the home turn.  Bud Husky checked off the heels of Lancome Lady approaching the home turn.

Handsome Jake was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sirius Matters.

The start was delayed by one minute, due to Trew Danger being re-vetted following an incidient during the stir-up and was passed fit to run.

Dyna Jenaya and St Pauli were quick to begin.  Seeka Moment, Trew Danger and Double Date collided approaching the first turn.  Sirius Matters checked off Hot Devil approaching the first turn.  Seeka Moment, Dyna Jenaya, Trew Danger and Double Date collided on the first turn, checking Double Date, Sirius Matters and Shimmy Dat Ray.  Trew Danger galloped on the heels of Hot Devil on the first turn, checking Hot Devil and Sirius Matters, and severely checking Trew Danger.

Trew Danger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg thigh muscle injury, an abrasion to right hock and brusing to right thigh, a five day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Seeking Stars engaged in this event on 21 April 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Seeking Stars and Blackpool Ivy were quick to begin.  Bottoms Up and Al's San Bow went up with the lids at boxrise.  Bottoms Up, Here Comes Tom and Daytona Fernando collided approaching the first turn, checking Bottoms Up and Here Comes Tom.  Bottoms Up checked off Spotted Opal approaching the home turn.  Spotted Opal and Al's San Bow collided on the home turn.  Bottoms Up checked off Al's San Bow on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr David Graham, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Al's San Bow.  Stewards directed that Al's San Bow be boxed first in future events.

A  pre-race sample was taken from Goldenpaw Lad.

Goldenpaw Lad, Monoak and Miss Camelot collided soon after the start, severely checking Monoak.  Hollywood Pearl and Pandora's Galaxy collided approaching the first turn.  Goldenpaw Lad and Miss Camelot collided on the home turn, checking Paid Too Much.  Goldenpaw Lad and Miss Camelot collided in the home straight.

Monoak was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
