Shining Glitter was slow to begin.
Agent Barry and Johnny Dunbar collided soon after the start, checking Agent Barry. Starburst Stan checked off the heels of Liberty Tron approaching the first turn, checking Johnny Dunbar. Cullquin Abbey, Agent Barry and Shining Glitter collided approaching the first turn, checking Agent Barry. Johnny Dunbar checked off Starburst Stan approaching the first turn, checking Johnny Dunbar. Starburst Stan and Angel's Halo collided several times approaching the home turn. Johnny Dunbar and Shining Glitter collided approaching the home turn. Starburst Stan, Angel's Halo and No More Sisco collided entering the home straight, checking Angel's Halo.
Stewards spoke to kennel representative Jai Willoughby regarding handler Dylan Sharp’s difficulties in boxing the greyhound Shining Glitter. Mr Willoughby explained that Mr Sharp was inexperienced and had only boxed three greyhounds on race day. Mr Willoughby was shown the vision of the start and was advised by Stewards to assist in the training of Mr Sharp. Mr Sharp was given advice by the Starter post-race on how to improve the way he boxes greyhounds.
