Steward's Report
Aztec Warrior and Octo Flash were slow to begin.
Banyuatis, Flamin' Miracle, Aztec Warrior and Octo Flash collided soon after the start. Maximum Lass, Horey's Prince and Baby Houseman collided at the 200m mark. Banyuatis, Aztec Warrior, Balmoral Bash and Octo Flash collided at the 150m mark, checking Aztec Warrior and Balmoral Bash. Maximum Lass, Horey's Prince, Baby Houseman and Flamin' Miracle collided at the 150m mark, checking Maximum Lass and Horey's Prince. Flamin' Miracle eased at the 200m and again at the 150m mark. Banyuatis and Octo Flash collided at the 50m mark.
Flamin' Miracle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Ronald Dunne, the trainer of the greyhound Flamin' Miracle, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 200m and 150m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Flamin' Miracle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dunne pleaded guilty to the charge, Flamin' Miracle was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
