Steward's Report
Zelemar Jim was quick to begin.
Zizou De Kahn and Air Commander collided approaching the first turn. Slew Left, Zelemar Jim and Master Rico collided on the first turn checking Master Rico and severely checking Zelemar Jim, Air Commander, Zizou De Kahn and Meyentay. Master Rico and Pepper Shannon collided on the second turn causing Pepper Shannon to race wide. Master Rico and Pepper Shannon collided several times in the back straight. Master Rico and Pepper Shannon collided several times on the 3rd turn. Master Rico and Pepper Shannon collided several times approaching the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Karabitsakos, the owner of the greyhound Master Rico regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Master Rico was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left chest muscle and left groin muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Master Rico with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the charge, Master Rico was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
