A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Myer.
Emperor Cruz and Magic Myer were quick to begin. Emperor Cruz, Little Tacka and Magic Myer collided on the first turn checking Little Tacka. Little Tacka and Birkenhead collided on the first turn. Buckle Up Scotch and My Alibi collided on the first turn. Emperor Cruz and Magic Myer collided approaching the home turn; Emperor Cruz lost ground as a result. Little Tacka, Birkenhead and Magic Myer collided on the home turn checking Birkenhead and severely checking Magic Myer and Little Tacka; Magic Myer stumbled and lost ground as a result.
