Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken today from Nancy's Delight prior to arriving at the course.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Harding, the trainer of Nancy's Delight regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Nancy's Delight last raced on 8th September 2017. Mr. Harding stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a strained left front ligament injury.
Ba Ria, Daintree Lilli, Speedway Lass and Woodleigh Belle were quick to begin. Jen's Magic, Mia Maestro, Black In Town and Nancy's Delight were slow to begin. Speedway Lass, Daintree Lilli and Ba Ria collided approaching the first turn checking Daintree Lilli. Daintree Lilli and Woodleigh Belle collided approaching the first turn checking Woodleigh Belle; Woodleigh Belle fell as a result. Ba Ria and Speedway Lass collided several times on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Black In Town, Speedway Lass and Ba Ria collided on the home turn checking Speedway Lass.
Ba Ria was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right elbow. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Woodleigh Belle was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left biceps muscle and right back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Samples were taken from the first two placegetters in this event - Daintree Lilli (1st) and Mia Maestro (2nd).
