A pre race sample was taken today from Nancy's Delight prior to arriving at the course. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Harding, the trainer of Nancy's Delight regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Nancy's Delight last raced on 8th September 2017.  Mr. Harding stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a strained left front ligament injury. 

Ba Ria, Daintree Lilli, Speedway Lass and Woodleigh Belle were quick to begin.  Jen's Magic, Mia Maestro, Black In Town and Nancy's Delight were slow to begin.  Speedway Lass, Daintree Lilli and Ba Ria collided approaching the first turn checking Daintree Lilli.  Daintree Lilli and Woodleigh Belle collided approaching the first turn checking Woodleigh Belle; Woodleigh Belle fell as a result.  Ba Ria and Speedway Lass collided several times on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Black In Town, Speedway Lass and Ba Ria collided on the home turn checking Speedway Lass.

Ba Ria was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right elbow.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Woodleigh Belle was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left biceps muscle and right back muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  

Samples were taken from the first two placegetters in this event - Daintree Lilli (1st) and Mia Maestro (2nd).

Panther Lane and Masked Belle were slow to begin.  How Manny Bazza and Gala Rose collided approaching the first turn checking Gala Rose.  Panther Lane checked off How Manny Bazza on the first turn.  Bushman's Billy, Tampico and Lektra Diamond collided approaching the home turn.  How Manny Bazza and Lektra Diamond collided entering the home straight.

Masked Belle was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left stopper area and right front distal radius soreness.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Better Way was slow to begin.  Scarlet Magic and Spritely Malibu collided soon after the start checking Spritely Malibu. Spritely Malibu contacted the running rail approaching the first turn. Scarlet Magic and Hardy's Banjo collided several times on the first turn.  Bad Baloney, Lucky Paws and Are You Ready collided approaching the home turn checking Lucky Paws and Are You Ready.  Bad Baloney, Lucky Paws and Are You Ready collided on the home turn checking Lucky Paws and Bad Baloney.  Lucky Paws checked off Bad Baloney entering the home straight.  Spritely Malibu and Better Way collided entering the home straight checking Spritely Malibu.  Are You Ready and Hardy's Banjo collided in the home straight.  Bad Baloney and Lucky Paws collided approaching the winning post checking Lucky Paws.

Spritely Malibu was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Mantra Mick was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left and right hocks.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Paula's Delight was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist fracture.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Mister Peanuts and Tiger Cabang collided soon after the start.  Al's San Bow and Mia Shan collided soon after the start.  Bushman's Legend and Kraken Titch collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Titch.  Kraken Titch galloped on the heels of Naomi Allen on the first turn causing Naomi Allen and Al's San Bow to fall.  Mister Peanuts and Bushman's Legend collided on the first turn checking Bushman's Legend and Wolf Point.  Kraken Titch and Bushman's Legend collided entering the home straight.

Naomi Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hind leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Al's San Bow was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left and right hind legs, a laceration to its right front wrist, a right hock sprain and a right hind toe collateral ligament rupture.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. A. Ferguson, trainer of Zambora Russ declared a new weight of 29.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Zambora Russ last raced at 27.7kgs.

Shadow Diamond and Kraken Lil were slow to begin.  Liberty Diamond, Zambora Russ, Maximum Jarvis and Archer's Will collided approaching the first turn checking Zambora Russ, Maximum Jarvis and Shadow Diamond.  Distributor and Gidgee's Boss collided on the home turn checking Gidgee's Boss and Kraken Lil.  Kraken Lil and Shadow Diamond collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Unique Serena trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 30.2kgs.  The greyhound pulled up on the first turn and did not complete the trial.  The time of the trial was 22.36.  Unique Serena was not cleared to race with blinkers on.  Unique Serena was vetted following the Satisfactory trial.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found..

Scott Lit Up trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 5, weight 30.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22.36.  The greyhound won by a margin of 4.5 lengths.  Scott Lit Up was cleared.
