Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Henness, the trainer of Run It Straight regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Run It Straight last raced on 13th September 2017. Mr. Debattista stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from being in season.
Cool Al, Moonbeam and Perfect Nature were slow to begin.
Run It Straight and Scott Lit Up collided approaching the home turn. Moonbeam and Scott Lit Up collided approaching the home turn checking Moonbeam.
Cool Al was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind leg. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. E. Bowles, the handler of the greyhound Scott Lit Up regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.
Scott Lit Up was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left chest muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Scott Lit Up with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Bowles pleaded guilty to the charge. Scott Lit Up was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
