After reviewing the head on vision, Stewards were satisfied that Janray Squawker was drifting off the track over the concluding stages of the event.  Janray Squawker was subsequently vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Boney Power was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left sesamoid injury. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Whipstick Indi was a late scratching at 10.40am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mrs Yvonne Carter was fined the sum of $100.

Daintree Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Alyssa Rose and Roberts collided soon after the start. Gotta Little Big and Billy Swagger collided soon after the start. Hashtag Johnny checked off Roberts at the 300m mark. Alyssa Rose checked off Gotta Little Big at the 100m mark.

Johnny's Return was quick to begin. Destini Florida was slow to begin.

Ernie's Legacy and Hey Shaza Fozz collided soon after the start. Star's Big Boy and Johnny's Return collided at the 250m mark. Early King and Star's Big Boy collided at the 200m mark. Destini Florida and Emi's Boy Murph collided at the 150m mark. Tricky Trey, Star's Big Boy and Emi's Boy Murph collided at the 50m mark.

Assemble Nitro crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking We Froff Dat, Fifty Dollar, Get The Gaff and Dontron. Dontron and Assemble Nitro collided at the 280m mark. Superior Swagger eased and failed to pursue the lure approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr David Jensen, the kennel representative for the greyhound Superior Swagger, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Superior Swagger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sesamoid stopper, a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Superior Swagger with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Jensen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Superior Swagger was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Bryce Templeton, the trainer of King Mischief, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. King Mischief last raced on 12 May 2017. Mr Templeton stated that the greyhound had changed kennels and was returning from a spell. 

Mr Bryce Templeton, trainer of King Mischief, declared a new weight of 35.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). King Mischief last raced at 33.8kg.

Mr. W. Green trainer of Tron's Empire declared a new weight of 32.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Tron's Empire last raced at 30.7kg.

Tron's Empire, Mini Dozer and Two Mississippi collided soon after the start, checking Mini Dozer. Kev's Choice and Two Mississippi collided at the 250m mark. All Inn Hunter raced wide from the 200m mark through to the conclusion of the event.  Kev's Choice and Tron's Empire collided approaching the winning post.

Gotta Cheer Up was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right hind toes and metatarsals. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Johnson, the trainer of Hugh Made Who regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hugh Made Who last raced on 9 July 2017. Mr Johnson stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.

Heavy Pockets and Dodge The Storm were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.

Heavy Pockets, Dodge The Storm and Swift Spur collided several times approaching the 250m mark through to the 200m mark, checking Heavy Pockets and Swift Spur. MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Nangar Tiger trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 32.8kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.92, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5L. Nangar Tiger was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Bernie Ender, the trainer of Renegade, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Renegade last raced on 31 March 2017. Mr Ender stated that the greyhound had sustained torn back muscles. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Renegade trialled over the 300m from box five, weight 33.6kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.92, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.25L. Renegade was cleared.
