A pre-race sample was taken from Trinity Kid.
Boney Power and Giorgio were quick to begin. Puffing Billy and Shakey Cougar were slow to begin.
Janray Squawker and Here Comes Tom collided soon after the start. Boney Power, Trinity Kid and Puffing Billy collided at the 250m mark. Janray Squawker and Here Comes Tom collided at the 200m mark. Boney Power and Trinity Kid collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark. Janray Squawker drifted out at the 150m mark, checking Black In Town. Janray Squawker and Boney Power collided at the 100m mark, checking Boney Power.
After reviewing the head on vision, Stewards were satisfied that Janray Squawker was drifting off the track over the concluding stages of the event. Janray Squawker was subsequently vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
