A pre-race sample was taken from Virgil.
Destructo Rat was quick to begin. Jetmag Storm and Will Dazzle were slow to begin. Virgil, Get The Gaff, Five Lights and Delta's Magic collided entering the back straight checking Delta's Magic, Will Dazzle and Jetmag Storm and severely checking Get The Gaff and Five Lights. Will Dazzle was checked off Jetmag Storm on the second turn. Jetmag Storm was checked off Get The Gaff approaching the home turn and raced wide. Five Lights galloped on Will Dazzle approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Delta's Magic was checked off Virgil entering the home straight.
