This race was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes as a result of a Los Alamitios thoroughbred race running behind time. 

Tyson Trump and Toby Sure were slow to begin.  Khawaja and Bellum Girl collided soon after the start, checking Bellum Girl.  Khawaja galloped on the heels of Boney Power at the 250m mark.  Khawaja, Toby Sure and Bellum Girl collided at the 150m mark, checking Khawaja.  Khawaja galloped on the heels of Bellum Girl approaching the 50m mark.

A pre race sample was taken from Mister Pickles upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Hartley Steph and Mister Pickles were slow to begin.  Sazana, Killara John and Booming Zulus collided at the 250m mark, checking Killara John.  Booming Zulus galloped on MIss Booming at the 200m mark, checking Hartley Steph and Sazana as a result.  Mister Pickles checked off Superior Joe approaching the winning post, severely checking Shooter's Odysey which stumbled as a result.

Shooter's Odysey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

You Betcha Joege and Sisco Knight were slow to begin.  Porscha's Girl stumbled soon after the start and lost considerable ground.  Parish Power and Extra Kisses collided several times soon after the start.  Parish Power, Extra Kisses and Hartley Matt collided at the 250m mark, checking Extra Kisses.

Porscha's Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn right nail, an injured right dew claw and injured right wrist, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Bubsy John.

French Defence, Chain Smoker, Arctic Blaze, Bubsy John and Tip Toe collided soon after the start, checking Chain Smoker and Arctic Blaze.  French Defence and Tip Toe collided at the 250m mark, checking Tip Toe.

A pre race sample was taken from Fear Fire upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre race sample was taken from Kyl's Me Mate.

Fear Fire and Golden Warrior were slow to begin.  Fiery Melody was quick to begin.  Haboob and Kyl's Me Mate collided soon after the start.  Haboob, Golden Warrior and King Gibbo collided at the 300m mark.  Fiery Melody and Cosmic Nosey collided at the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds.  Cosmic Act and Fiery Melody collided at the 100m mark.

Jimmy's Angel was quick to begin.  Sleeping Slick and Our Turbo Girl were slow to begin.  Irish Connection checked off Silver Banjo soon after the start.  Cosmic Spur and Meehan Rosie collided at the 300m mark, checking Our Turbo Girl and Meehan Rosie.

A sample was taken from Spritely Pizazz - the winner of the event.

Splash Of Blue was slow to begin.  Crunchin Numbers checked off Meehan Deano at the 250m mark.  Spazzy Blue checked off White Diamond at the 150m mark.  Splash Of Blue and Meehan Deano collided at the 40m mark.

Stewards spoke to handler K Ryan regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Meehan Deano.  Stewards directed that Meehan Deano be boxed first in future events.

Out of Competition Samples were taken from Zinzan Brooke, Lucky Chap, Kouta Mayhem and Ando's Mac engaged in this event, and Judicial Man (reserve not required) on 5 September 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Peter Galo and Lucky Chap were slow to begin.  Lucky Chap checked off Our Real Deal soon after the start.  Our Real Deal and Kouta Mayhem collided at the 300m mark.  Aston Dee Bee and Zinzan Brooke collided approaching the 250m mark.  Peter Galo and Kouta Mayhem collided at the 250m mark, checking both greyhounds.  Kouta Mayhem checked off Burn Like Fire at the 200m mark.  Aston Dee Bee checked off Zinzan Brooke at the 200m mark and crossed to the outside, colliding with Ando's Mac as a result.

Lucky Chap was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10 it was reported that the greyhound sustained injured left and right monkey muscles and left radius, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Samples were taken from the placegetters of the event - Zinzan Brooke (1st), Aston Dee Bee (2nd) and Burn Like Fire (3rd).

Shezza's Nitro stumbled soon after the start.  Soeztoc and Oliver Cruise collided soon after the start.  Oaklands and Juno Away collided at the 100m mark, causing Juno Away to gallop on the heels of Early Express.  

A sample was taken from We Have Hope - the winner of the event.

Early Spring, Boof's Banjo, Destini Florida and Lady Beatrix collided soon after the start, checking all four greyhounds.  Destini Florida and Lady Beatrix collided at the 300m mark.  Destini Florida, Lady Beatrix and Dodge The Storm collided at the 200m mark.  Destini Florida and Lady Beatrix collided at the 150m mark.  Boof's Banjo clipped the heels of Black Market at the 100m mark.

Steward spoke to Mr. P. Martinovic, the representative of Black Market after it was established the greyhound was kennelled in the incorrect kennel during kennelling. Stewards noted that there was a vacant kennel in the bay as there were only 7 runners in the field. Stewards reminded Mr. Martinovic to ensure he checks the kennel ticket thoroughly in future to ensure this does not happen again. Stewards also referred the kennel attendants responsible for locking away the greyhounds during kennelling to club management. 

Massive Attack was a late scratching at 5.22pm on 9 September due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Early King, Xavier's Mate and Silky Strings were slow to begin.  Assemble Nitro and Xavier's Mate collided soon after the start.  Early King and Dynamite Dozer collided at the 300m mark, checking Early King.  Xavier's Mate and Keep Talking collided several times from the 100m mark until the 50m mark.

Walkin' The Walk and Regional Chief collided soon after the start.  Pure Eagle and Regional Chief collided at the 250m mark.  Walkin' The Walk and Lucky's Spirit collided at the 250m mark.  Pure Eagle and ANother Hope collided at the 100m mark, checking Pure Eagle.  Rose Of Dyanna, Dodge Ball and Walkin' The Walk collided at the 50m mark, checking Dodge Ball.  Another Hope and Walkin' The Walk collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to G Sneyders regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Walkin' The Walk.  Stewards directed that Walkin' The Walk be boxed first in future events.
