Steward's Report
Smurftastic was a late scratching at 10.23am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer V Watson was fined the sum of $100. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms V Watson, regarding the weight variation of Smurftastic given that the greyhound had also been scratched from its previous start at Healesville on 29 October, 2017 also due to weight variation. Ms. Watson advised that the greyhound has had a change of diet and will be mindful in future. Stewards noted the explanation.
Welshman and Blue Pepper were slow to begin. Welshman and Billy Moran collided soon after the start. Porscha's Girl, Welshman, Slingshot Jayla and Guns Ablazing collided approaching the 300m mark, checking Welshman. Welshman crossed to the outside at the 300m mark. Porscha's Girl and Slingshot Jayla collided approaching the 250m mark. Billy Moran checked off Porscha's Girl at the 250m mark. Welshman and Tiger Tees collided approaching the 200m mark. Porscha's GIrl and Slingshot Jayla collided several times from the 200m mark until the 150m mark. Billy Moran and Tiger Tees collided at the 150m mark. Porscha's Girl checked off Slingshot Jayla approaching the winning post.
