Mr. Whitford  stated that the greyhound was return from a spell and was new to his kennels. Mr. Whitford also declared a new weight of 30.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Trigger Lee last raced at 31.2kg.

Mr. D. Carswell, trainer of Macka's Victorem declared a new weight of 33.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Macka's Victorem last raced at 31.5kg.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. F. Vantaarling, the handler of the greyhound Little Boy Jed regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Little Boy Jed with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Vantaarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Little Boy Jed was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
