Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Jonny Bravo.
Amaroo Gonzales and Pristina Lad were slow to begin. Jonny Bravo and Pristina Lad collided soon after the start, checking Pristina Lad. Will Dazzle, Jonny Bravo and Stately Kay collided on the first turn, checking Amaroo Gonzales, Viewing, Jonny Bravo and Pristina Lad. Lonesome Katie and Mandela Sun collided on the home turn. Mandela Sun marred Lonesome Katie entering the home straight. Lonesome Katie and Mandela Sun collided several times in the home straight.
Mandela Sun was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr Phillip Pollutro, the trainer of the greyhound Mandela Sun, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Mandela Sun with marring. Mr Pollutro pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mandela Sun was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for three months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
