Due to the recent extreme weather conditions over the past two days, Stewards inspected the Healesville track at 07:30am and deemed the track safe for racing. The track was further inspected at 09:30am.

A pre-race sample was taken from Trapezius.

Big Deal, Trapezius and Johnny McKenley were slow to begin.

Big Deal and Trapezius collided soon after the start, checking Maggie Mikado. Major Gas and Alpanda collided soon after the start. Alpanda checked off Major Gas at the 250m mark. Johnny McKenley and Maggie Mikado collided at the 150m mark. Big Deal and Johnny McKenley collided at the 100m mark. Trapezius checked off Maggie Mikado approaching the 50m mark. Johnny McKenley and Trail Blazer collided approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from Major Gas, the winner of the event.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6), starter Mr Michael Craig did not act in any official capacity for this event. Mr Craig was replaced by Mr John Nicholls.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Jitterbug; a post-race sample was subsequently collected from the greyhound which placed fourth in the event.

Greysynd Hitman, All Revved Up and Buddie's Al were slow to begin.

Buddie's Al crossed to the outside soon after the start and continued to race wide for the entirety of the event. Don's Gas checked off All Revved Up soon after the start. Jitterbug checked off Major Energy approaching the 200m mark. Don's Gas checked off Greysynd Hitman at the 200m mark.

A pre-race sample was taken from Placid Pause.

Killara John was quick to begin. Levator Scapulae went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Zachary Smith was slow to begin.

Monkey Mite and Big Tilly collided approaching the 250m mark. Bruree Boy checked off Placid Pause at the 250m mark, checking Zachary Smith. Monkey Mite crossed to the outside at the 200m mark and collided with Placid Pause and Killara John. Placid Pause and Killara John collided at the 150m mark. Zachary Smith stumbled at the 150m mark. Monkey Mite checked off Placid Pause at the 50m mark.

Zachary Smith was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Big Tilly, the winner of the event.

Holiday Dancer was a late scratching at 07:51am due to a foot injury (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Our Rocket.

Glacier Boy and Our Rocket were slow to begin.

Superior Martini, Mia Maestro and Artron collided soon after the start. Our Rocket checked off Stealthy Mover soon after the start. Mia Maestro and Artron collided at the 250m mark, checking Artron. Superior Martini crossed to the outside at the 150m mark, checking Mia Maestro. Stealthy Mover and Well Armed collided at the 100m mark.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tzar Norma.

Shez Impetuous and Subscapularis were slow to begin.

Shez Impetuous and Blackjack's Back collided approaching the 300m mark. Justa Jezza checked off Crainy's Wish at the 250m mark. Tyson Trump and Tzar Norma collided at the 250m mark, and several times from the 50m mark to approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Daryl Brennan, the trainer of Stellar Creek, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Stellar Creek last raced at The Meadows on 26 July, 2017. Mr Brennan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left stopper injury.

Christalle Max was a late scratching at 08:35am acting on Stewards Permission. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Clint Colaiacova, who advised that due to road blockages and closures from his residential area resulting from recent extreme weather events, he was unable to get to the track. Stewards accepted the explanation. No stand down penalty was applied.

Destini Florida and Rusty Towbar collided soon after the start. Miss Gypsy Lee and Fancy Hope collided soon after the start. Destini Florida checked off No Passengers at the 300m mark. Royal Knocka and Miss Gypsy Lee collided at the 100m mark. No Passengers and Destini Florida collided at the 50m mark.

Tobias Kelton was a late scratching at 08:17am due to a leg injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewrds spoke to trainer Ms Angela Jackson, the trainer of Baby Houseman, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Baby Houseman last raced at Healesville on 6 August, 2017. Ms Jackson stated that the greyhound had been spelling.

The start time of this event was delayed by approximately one minute in order to hold for the completion of Woodbine Harness.

Don's Just Under was slow to begin.

Bluey Can Fly and Baby Houseman collided soon after the start. Milly's Missile and Undetectable collided soon after the start. Milly's Missile checked off Undetectable at the 250m mark, checking Baby Houseman. Bluey Can Fly and Baby Houseman collided approaching the 200m mark. Milly's Missile and Fernando Stealth collided at the 200m mark, severely checking Milly's Missile; It's Fresh was checked as a result. Fernando Stealth and It's Fresh collided at the 150m mark. Don's Just Under and It's Fresh collided at the 150m mark. Bluey Can Fly and Baby Houseman collided at the 150m mark. Don's Just Under checked off Undetectable approaching the 100m mark.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Triceps Brachii; a post-race sample was subsequently collected from the greyhound which was unplaced in the event.

Black In Town and Unexplainable collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Black In Town. Prince Mikado and Heartstring collided at the 250m mark. Ace Ventura was slow to begin.

Florida Que and Wicked Tuna collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Florida Que crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and race wide for the remainder of the event. Captain Marvel and Weiss Allen collided at the 200m mark. Ace Ventura and Guns Ablazing collided at the 200m mark. Captain Marvel and Weiss Allen collided at the 150m mark.

Florida Que was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the right wrist. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Diligent Miss was quick to begin. Erica McKenna was slow to begin, crossed to the outside soon after the start and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
