Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mrs. A. Ashworth the trainer of Ann Cherie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ann Cherie last raced on 05/06/17. Mrs. Ashworth stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell. Mrs. Ashworth declared a new weight of 26.3kg for the greyhound in accordance wtih GAR 39(2). Ann Cherie last raced at 27.9kg.
Trinity Kid was quick to begin. Ann Cherie and Hardaway Hitman were slow to begin. Hurricane Lucas was very slow to begin (5 lengths). Liberty Sage and Miss Coffee collided soon after the start. Liberty Sage, Miss Coffee and Ann Cherie collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Coffee. Boydy and Miss Coffee collided approaching the first turn checking Liberty Sage. Macreadie and Trinity Kid collided on the first turn. Miss Coffee contacted the running rail on the first turn. Liberty Sage and Hardaway Hitman collided on the first turn checking Hardaway Hitman. Macreadie and Trinity Kid collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Trinity Kid and severely checking Miss Coffee and Macreadie, Macreadie fell as a result.
Macreadie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a small abrasion to the tongue and left dew claw, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Hurricane Lucas was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
