Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr David Grindley, the trainer of Compsognathus, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Composgnathus last raced 24 April 2017 and is returning to racing following a fractured left metatarsal.
Tansy Girl was a late scratching at 11:57am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28-day stand down period was imposed.
Double The Magic and Janray Squawker collided soon after the start. Double The Magic and All You Got collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark, checking Double The Magic. Double The Magic and Compsognathus at the 100m mark, checking Compsognathus. Janray Squawker checked off Black In Town at the 100m mark. Janray Squawker and Jagged Ice collided at the 50m mark, checking Janray Squawker.
Compsognathus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and gracilis (back) muscles. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
